for civil war production, with nickel-plated 6in. octagonal tip-up barrel signed on the raised sighting rib 'SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS.', plated frame and cylinder, the cylinder with traces of a central band of patent dates, three pin cylinder lock, spurred hammer and spur trigger and smooth ebony grips, the whole re-plated in antiquity
